We have selected the Australia coach tour operators that we feature because they offer you a great experience and a good range of coach touring options. The types of tours we offer can be broken down into Escorted Coach Tours and Small Group tours.
An escorted coach tour of Australia is one of the most popular ways to explore this beautiful country. They offer a stress free way to explore Australia where you have a knowledgeable guide with you and all your accommodation, sightseeing and some meals are taken care of. Generally an escorted coach tour has 20-48 people onboard at any one time. You get to travel with the same group of people for the duration of your tour and it’s a great opportunity to meet like- minded travellers and meet new friends. All accommodation, sightseeing and many meals are included in the tour package and you have a driver/guide and/or a tour guide with you throughout your tour. They are on hand to help you with any questions you have, assist if you encounter any problems while on tour and to share their extensive knowledge of Australia with you to help you get the most out of your tour. The coaches are modern air-conditioned vehicles with onboard bathrooms, your luggage is handled for you at each hotel and generally breakfast is included daily, most dinners and sometimes lunches also.
AAT Kings Tours AAT Kings is part of a highly successful international travel group that is a 4th generation, family-owned business. AAT Kings were pioneers of coach touring in Australia, beginning their operations 100 years ago. This affords them a lot of experience and history touring Australia and they have Travel Directors on all their tours that are very experienced and knowledgeable. AAT Kings offer 2 styles of escorted coach touring including:
Scenic Tours Scenic Tours is a 30 year old company operating coach tours around the world. All Scenic Tours operate in a coach with a maximum of 36 seats and feature tour directors to guide you during your trip. Scenic also run a unique programme of including free choice activities and dining in your tour price but allowing you the freedom of choice. They also offer Scenic Enrich Experiences that are highlighted as unforgettable experiences included in their tours.
An Australian small group tour usually has about 12-22 other people on tour at any one time. You get to enjoy everything that you do on an escorted coach tour but it is a more intimate experience with a smaller group with the tour often taking in more of the off the beaten track locations or more unique and personalised experiences. You travel with the same group of people for the duration of the tour and travel in modern well-equipped coaches. Often the coaches are full sized but with less seats which makes more legroom and comfort for you. Another key feature of a small group tour is that the accommodation you stay at during your tour is generally more boutique or a little different from the larger group tour accommodation options. You have a driver guide and/or a tour guide throughout the tour. The small tour operators we work with are:
Inspiring Journeys
Immersive and boutique small group journeys. On an Inspiring Journey you will be introduced to rich and immersive experiences in an intimate small group setting (maximum 22 guests). You’ll travel in luxury coaches or 4WD vehicles and stay in boutique retreats, lodges and resorts with cuisine to match.
WA NT Tours WA NT is a privately owned business that runs small group tours of Australia and specialises in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. The tours are designed especially for travellers who want to explore Australia’s beautiful countryside, enjoy special annual events and get to know the locals in a personalised tour.
Coral Expeditions
Coral Expeditions is Australia’s pioneering expedition cruise company, sailing for nearly four decades. They operate and manage a fleet of three small expedition ships taking guests to some of the most beautiful, yet undiscovered, regions of Australia and offer a relaxed small ship atmosphere and itineraries which larger ships cannot replicate.
The cuisine is prepared small batch on board, and while the style is down to earth, it reflects high quality Australian produce and wine. Coral Expeditions offer interpretive programs reflective of the destinations visited and employ Expedition Leaders, Guest Lecturers, Marine Biologists, and SCUBA Instructors – a tradition that continues today.
